PGA Tour analyst rips into Phil Mickelson and LIV Golf with ‘murderous regime’ tweet

PGA Tour Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee hits out at Phil Mickelson and LIV Golf in latest tweet.

Golf Channel analyst and one-time PGA Tour winner Brandel Chamblee has ripped into Phil Mickelson and LIV Golf with his latest tweet.

Chamblee, 62, has been a constant vocal critic of the Saudi-bankrolled LIV Golf League since its inception in 2022.

And he is still not holding back in his criticism of the league a week before LIV Golf commences its fourth season in Riyadh.

Chamblee made his latest feelings be known about LIV Golf when responding to a video interview given by six-time major champion Mickelson, 54, who is the captain of HyFlyers GC.

Mickelson, who was the first name to move to LIV Golf in 2022, explained on the Joe Pomp Show why he is adamant LIV Golf will prove a success in the long run.

Lefty believes there are a number of a reason why LIV Golf will prove a success but the biggest one he considers is that their events are much more laidback and easier for spectator viewing, especially for parents with young children, in comparison to PGA Tour events.

“When you go to a PGA Tour event, it’s very uncomfortable for a parent to bring a child because you have to be quiet, shhhhhh, don’t move, stop moving, come over here and let’s get a view, and you’re kind of hustling and your kids are kind of tired,” said Mickelson, who won 45 times on the PGA Tour.

“They’re walking miles, the golf fan is the most loyal fan walking miles, paying for a ticket and seeing a fraction of the action. It’s not like other sports where you buy a seat and you get to see 100% of the action and don’t have to move.

We have a very loyal fan base but when you are with your kids it’s very uncomfortable, because if you have a six year old you’re like don’t talk right now, come over here. They walk, they are tired, and they do not have a place to go.

“You go to a LIV Golf event, you feel different. If we’re out in the course, you have the music like in the car … we don’t hear people saying stuff like that. We don’t hear it. And not as worried that you’ve got your kids quiet. It’s like walk up here and there is a fan zone on the course and you can sit down, there’s a kids zone by the clubhouse, sit down, play putt putt, have a games for them with entertain them, there are big screens so you can still see who’s out on the course, so when you’re there, you just feel you’re calm and you’re comfortable. You feel relaxed. That’s the number one why I believe that LIV will be successful and that is when you actually go there and experience it walk away you feel different. When you play at a Tour other than your own, you are tired and weary.

In reaction to Mickelson’s video posted on GOLF, Chamblee tweeted: ‘Phil says kids better experience at events supported by a murdering regime than at events supported by a philanthropic organization…
