Former US Open winner Aderson said, ‘We actually hear that LIV Golf are looking into recruiting more players but wouldn’t disclose who they have in mind.’
Phil Mickelson added there is still a lot of curiosity from the players of the PGA Tour regarding the LIV Golf League.
However, the six-time major champion could not name those golfers that are eyeing a switch to LIV for 2025.
Mickelson made a similar declaration 12 months ago.
“The reality is, I’ve been fielding calls, as we all have, from players that are free agents to PGA Tour players to DP World Tour players that want to come over,” he said back then.
Jon Rahm ultimately became the Saudi-backed league’s marquee signing and last week he was crowned LIV’s individual champion.
He was joined by his European Ryder Cup teammate Tyrrell Hatton.
Poland’s Adrian Meronk also joined LIV last year, revealing his omission from the Ryder Cup team contributed to his decision to switch tours.
Mickelson wasn’t as open on the topic on Wednesday when the hall of famer and the other LIV captains took part in a news conference ahead of this weekend’s team championship in Dallas.
Asked if he had heard about a similar level of interest from players from rival tours, Mickelson said: “Yes.”
So was he prepared to expand on the topic?
“No.”
Fair enough, then.
At the moment Mickelson does not use new vacancies on his HyFlyers team.
Brendan Steele, Andy Ogletree and Cameron Tringale are some of the golfers who escaped relegation.
Some of the players particularly Mickelson could make some trades during the off-season.
Golfers who were relegated in 2025 included Bubba Watson, a two-time masters champion; Branden Grace; Kalle Samooja; Kieran Vincent; Scott Vincent.
